Tarot Cards & Fortune Tellers, A Life or Death Situation – Spirituality 101

This is a quick response to a Quora question on whether or not Tarot cards are a scam:

I suppose some could be. But let me warn you: you’re dabbling with demons when you start looking at tarot cards, wigi boards, fortune tellers and the like. This kind of stuff opens up doorways that you don’t want in your life and home. Let me tell you a story: My wife when she was in college, a Catholic at the time (not any more), decided to go to a fortune teller with her friends, just for “fun”. The woman did her thing, and when it came time for my wife, the woman told her that she would die that night! She nervously shrugged it off, I think her friends laughed about it, and they went on with their day. That night she was in the bed, her sister sleeping with her only inches away, when suddenly something invisible pinned her to the bed and started pressing on her throat. She couldn’t breath, she couldn’t talk, she couldn’t move, she couldn’t touch her sister just inches away. She was about to die. Then suddenly, she looked up above the bed and saw a cross hanging on the wall, and all she could do was think: “JESUS!” The force lifted slightly from her throat. She thought it again and again, each time the force loosening the pressure, until finally she could say His name “Jesus!” with her voice, and the force (the demon) left her. The next day, she found out that her brother’s friend (who was spiritually sensitive) who was spending the night in her brother’s room right across from hers, had told her brother that night (I forget the exact words) that he felt something was not right in the other room and that they needed to pray. My wife also told the event to her family’s maid, who was a Muslim (housemaids are common in the country/city she grew up in). She said that it sounded just like what had happened to multiple people in her village… but it couldn’t be that, because they all died! Jesus is King of kings and Lord of lords. He has power and authority over these things (and He died so that you could be set free, made spiritually alive in Him, and have everlasting life if you will trust in Him and Who He is and what He’s done for you on the cross [don’t forget He bodily rose again three days later], and try to obey Him). There are certain things God told us not to do, including sorcery and divination, which includes things like this, and that’s because when you tap into the spiritual realm unguided by God, not redeemed by Him, you can access demonic beings that are beyond your comprehension, who lie habitually, and that hate your guts (though they may appear friendly at first to some), they are masters of deception, and whether they strangle you in bed, or drive you insane, or use you to mislead and/or curse others, they do not want what’s good for you. They want to lead you away from God and His salvation and power in Christ Jesus our Lord. Heard multiple stories of kids playing with wigi boards and having demonic encounters, etc. While you’re still reading this, let me give you this link to look at and think about:

And whether you’re being drawn into these types of things as a seeker, or are already deeply entrenched and influenced by familiar spirits… God loves you, and He gave His Only Begotten Son to die for your sins, so that you could live, He does not require human sacrifices like the ancient “gods” of the Aztecs and other ancient cultures… rather, He sacrificed Himself for us, so that we could live (see John 3:16 [vs13–21 & context]). And He is coming again, but whether you see that day or die before then, you will face Him for Judgement. Please, get your life right with Him today, trust Him as your Lord and Saviour, repent of your sins, He can set you free not only from the power of sin but from demonic oppression and influence.
