The following is a FB reply I left after someone gave the following video about there being supposed evidence for human evolution in chromosomes, which is nonsense:

Well, first that’s simply their interpretation. It could equally be argued that God created it that way, and the ape’s and the human’s chromosomes are unique and perform different functions.
Secondly, you’re going to have to explain a whole lot more than an imaginative connection between chromosomes, as the differences between apes and humans are probably in the millions, all significant differences, of which we have no evidence of intermediates, let alone the many millions that would be needed (and there’s no known mechanisms to make such changes as I’m aware). I would say this is like (in reverse order) looking at a motorbike and a unicycle, and saying: “Aha! The motorbike has two wheels, and the unicycle has one, we know that motorcycles and unicycles are related, so the two wheels on the motorbike must have fused together to form the single wheel on the unicycle! Infallible proof, once again!” Simplified I know.
Side note: I will say that the more we know about DNA, etc, the more we find that it is designed specifically for each species. There’s a note on that in this video I think, but I forget at which point (this man by the way is one of the world’s renowned scientists: Science Refutes Evolution – Dr. James Tour

Other side note: please remember they tried to tell us that humans and monkeys shared 98% DNA, but that was only after they threw out and discounted large portions of DNA from both monkeys and humans because they didn’t understand their functions – and didn’t tell the general public, and it ended up being far less after this was discovered and more research done (though even if it had been 98% – which it isn’t, it wouldn’t have proved evolution).
Thirdly, the man says that when they PRESENTED this information, the Creationists had nothing to say. Well, duh. If you just present something, the other person needs time to look at it, examine it, and see if what you’re saying holds true. Creationists have responded since to this claim, for example:

Fourthly, despite the fact that macro evolution just doesn’t happen, and cannot happen – scientifically impossible, and has impossible odds/probabilities multiple times over… you don’t even have enough time for it to have supposedly happened. Now there’s multiple evidences for a young Earth (and solar system and universe), but since we’re on the subject of humans, population rates dictate that we very likely have not been on this planet for more than around 6,000 years. Had we been around for a hundred thousand years or more, population levels would be mind-bogglingly huge (yes, bogglingly):

Fifthly, if you’re going to try to prove any sort of macro evolution through chromosomes (particularly chromosome count – which this man does elude to as being the case), I suggest you take a look at this list found on: http://evolutionfacts.com/Evolution-handbook/E-H-15.htm – which also gives you more comparisons that I shall not include here (really, it’s just a maze, there’s no successive progression in chromosome count):

You will notice in this list that gorillas and deer mice are identical twins, I guess the real question then is, why didn’t we evolve from deer mice?
Also note that garden peas and barley are also twins, as well as donkeys and Gypsy moths, as well as alfalfa and mice… you know, I really can’t tell the difference between these pairs, can you?
Also notice all of the advanced creatures beyond gorillas and man, such as… the striped skunk, donkey, dog, Gypsy moth… and don’t forget the most advanced creature on the whole list… the protozoa (1,600 chromosomes… pretty impressive)!
We are not MISSING 2 chromosomes. God made us as we are. Actually He probably made us better than what we are today, and we’ve been degrading over the centuries – which there is evidence to support.
He says if we can’t find it, evolution is in trouble… evolution’s BEEN in trouble since its inception.
He says he doesn’t believe in a deceptive Designer who would try to fool us… are our own misinterpretations God trying to fool us? Hmm… When Jesus turned the water to wine, was He thinking “if they could just analyze this wine, they’d have no idea I just made it a few seconds ago from water, haha, I fooled em!” Or when He raised Lazarus from the dead, was He thinking: “anyone who sees him after this is gonna be totally fooled and think that he never died!” Or when He walked on the water, was He thinking: “I’m totally gonna fool my disciples on the physics of water and gravity!” Or when He created a mature Heaven and Earth in six days, was He thinking: “Haha! They’ll never find out! When elementary science gets up, and it gets taken over by a bunch of ungodly men who hate Me and will ignore anything that points to Me whether it be My Word or science, they’ll be so fooled by Me.” (Which the evidence does suggest a young earth by the way).
Evolution is fraught with a history of lies, fraud, and brainwashing… why would we trust them for anything? Evolution has done nothing good for society, it’s dragged people away from God, it’s degraded society, and it’s been the reasoning and moral escape for some of the biggest mass murderers over the last 200 years. God made you, and He loves you, and He wants to save you from Hell through Jesus Christ, if you haven’t made Him your Lord and Saviour yet.
