THE FOLLOWING IS AN UNFINISHED PAPER, THAT I FELT AN URGENCY TO PUBLISH IN PART, AND AS IS, IN ORDER TO RESPOND TO IGNORANT MUSLIMS TRYING TO SAY THIS PASSAGE IS ABOUT MUHAMMAD.

ITS A LITTLE MESSY, SOME INFORMATION MAY NEED TO BE DOUBLE CHECKED. I WILL CREATE A NEW PAGE OR UPDATE THIS ONE ONCE THE PAPER IS FINISHED – BUT I HAVE OTHER PROJECTS I’M WORKING ON, SO IT MAY BE A WHILE. *Color coding, bolding, & underlining mine.

Please read all the way through,
in order,
slowly & carefully.

Here Are The Main Subjects Of This Paper:

-Requirements of the Prophet (including Deuteronomy 34:10-12 explanation).

-Jesus specifically claimed that Moses and the prophets wrote about Him, and that the Scriptures testify about Him.

-Others believed that Jesus was that Prophet (the Disciples, the crowds, etc).

-Extensive specific and/or supernatural similarities between Jesus and Moses (and some general points from Muslims for Muhammad).

-Disqualifications of the Prophet (aka, signs of false prophets & Muhammad matching the bill).

Deuteronomy 18:15-22

15. The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

  1. According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.
  2. And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken thatwhich they have spoken.
  3. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
  4. And it shall come to pass, thatwhosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require itof him.
  5. But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
  6. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
  7. When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that isthe thing which the LORD hath not spoken, butthe prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”*LET ME PREFACE THIS PAPER BY FIRST SAYING THAT MUSLIMS REALLY WANT DEUTERONOMY 18:18 TO BE ABOUT MUHAMMAD, AND MANY HAVE CONVINCED THEMSELVES THAT IT IS SO (OR HAVE BEEN CONVINCED BY ONE OF THEIR MENTORS). WHAT I WANT TO CHALLENGE THE MUSLIM READING THIS TO DO IS TO LOOK VERY CAREFULLY AT VERSE 19, AND DECIDE THAT WHOEVER IT ENDS UP BEING, EVEN IF IT’S NOT MUHAMMAD, THAT YOU WILL WANT TO LISTEN TO THE WORDS OF THE LORD FROM THAT INDIVIDUAL, BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT GOD SAID YOU MUST DO, AND HE WILL HOLD YOU ACCOUNTABLE IF YOU DON’T. AND AFTER HAVING MADE THAT COMMITMENT, I WANT YOU TO READ THIS PAPER CAREFULLY AND FULLY, AND WEIGH THE EVIDENCE FOR YOURSELF. IS IT MUHAMMAD… OR IS IT JESUS? WE SHALL DO SO FROM A BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE, SINCE THIS PROPHESY IS (AFTER ALL) IN THE BIBLE. IF YOU ARE COMMITTED TO DO ALL OF THAT, THEN PLEASE PROCEDE…*PS, you will also need to be brave through my occasional (and justified) sarcasm, as well as my (obviously) different viewpoints. If you care about truth, even if you disagree with me, then you will be able to handle it. Just read everything carefully and fully, and have in your heart & mind the thirst for truth, be open to the truth, and have the integrity to go wherever the evidence leads you. Can you do that? If so, then let’s get started…

Requirements/Qualifications Of The Prophet:

Muslims usually only like to quote verse 18 (and of course 19), and that’s because it’s slightly less specific then where the passage actually begins, at verse 15, and thus they can more easily try to twist the Scripture and squeeze their interpretation into it. But we must read it in context (and the Bible, unlike the Quran, is written in a narrative and often chronological format, with all the context right there). So read it… carefully.

  1. the Prophet had to be raised up by the LORD (YeHoVaH).
I won’t stress this point too much for now, because it goes into a whole other debate, but Allah is not the true God YHVH of the Bible for a number of reasons: name, attributes, Theology, eschatology, etc. Jesus is YHVH, but again, that’s another topic. As a side note: some Muslims will want to say that Christians saying that Allah is a different god from YHVH (the true God of the Bible) is a misrepresentation of what they believe. NO, it is a CLARIFICATION to the Biblically-ignorant Muslims of what WE believe. We know what you want to believe, but that is based on total ignorance of what the Bible says of God (God’s character, His nature, the importance of His name, etc. – and how those are contrary to those of Allah in the Quran and Hadith). Muhammad essentially borrowed SOME attributes of the Biblical God for his Allah (the origins and exact nature of which is another topic), but then twisted in a bunch of non-Biblical and contradictory attributes. For the Muslim to insist that Allah is YHVH is to misrepresent what Jews and Christians believe about God based on the Bible. So don’t come blubbering saying that we’re misrepresenting your beliefs, and acting the victim, when you’re the ones that are trying to forcefully misrepresent our beliefs by Muhammad’s appropriations and alterations of the true God of the Bible, YHVH, for his own purposes. An additional side note: Muslims, Do Not use terms like “our Jewish friends” to try to pit Christians and Jews against each other to escape the spotlight, and to try to ally with Jews, when talking about things like the Scriptures and the nature of God. THAT is extremely deceptive and offensive. The Gospel and New Testament are a continuation of the Old Testament, and encourages a love for the Jewish people (Jesus and His Disciples and followers, including the Apostle Paul, and much of the early church were all Jews who knew the Old Testament Scriptures and believed Jesus was a direct fulfillment of Messianic prophesies, in a largely Jewish setting and later to the Gentile nations [as prophesied], and God still has a good future plan for the whole nation of Israel to be saved – Romans 11, for example), as well as for the whole world and the lost (unbelievers) therein (John 3:16-17 for example, among others); The Quran and Hadith, on the other hand, are completely separate texts from the Bible, and only have a surface level likeness from Muhammad’s appropriations, which are not very deep (and are severely distorted), and are clearly from multiple sources that are not Scripture (commentaries, fables, traditions, etc.). It has a completely different god, denies and disobeys teachings of both the Old and New Testaments, and teaches a hatred of both Jews and Christians (REFERENCES, we are the worst of creatures {and no, it’s not the same as saying you’re going to Hell, because unlike your false god, the True God loved you enough to leave Heaven, become a man, and die for your sins, so that you could have eternal life, and does not relish in the fact that if you deny Him and His free gift of salvation that you will go to Hell – Allah never did anything like that, and he doesn’t care who goes to Hell – REFERENCES}; our ancestors were turned into pigs, monkeys, dogs, and other unclean animals – REFERENCES, etc.), as well as any unbeliever (Q3:32, etc. [contrast with John 3:16-17]), and you’re even commanded not to make friends/allies with us unless you are lying/being deceitful (REFERENCE). And at the same time, it admonishes us to abide by our Scriptures and for Muslims to come to us for questions concerning our Scriptures (REFERENCES)… and yet you refuse to listen to us when we tell you that your book contradicts ours, or that your god is not the same as our God, or what the Bible means when it says that Jesus is the Messiah (which you are supposed to believe as well – REFERENCES, without an explanation), etc., etc., etc. By listening to us and believing what the Bible says, you’d have to stop being Muslims, but to not listen to us and not believe what the Bible says, is to disobey the Quran, and not be Muslims! 😛 Saying the Bible (Old or New Testaments) is corrupt is also not in line with what the Quran says (REFERENCES), or with what the evidence shows. If only Muslims would simply pay more attention to the Bible, and believe what it says, we wouldn’t need to have these silly and endless debates (such as is Muhammad in Deuteronomy 18:18) so clearly against Scripture.

Ok, sorry (kinda) for the long rabbit trials… on to point #2.

  2. the Prophet had to come from the Israelites.
This is what Muslims want to avoid. They want to try to say that it’s speaking of Ishmael’s descendants (assuming that Muhammad came from Ishmael). But not only does this reasoning have flaws in it, but it’s also not what the text says. Problems include the facts that:1st. That’s a very poor choice: *extremely distant relatives, *who were never supposed to have come into existence (brought about by an act of not trusting God that Sarah herself would give birth to a son despite being too old – Genesis 16), *that were not included in the Messianic line of ancestors and God’s specific promises to Abraham (even according to the Quran, as we shall see later), *that were long-time enemies of Israel, *that did not worship YHVH (Psalm 83, also see this article on why Allah may have been Baal mentioned in the Bible: https://www.answeringislam.org/Shamoun/ishmael-baal.htm), and *that supposedly brought about Muhammad, who created a religion that hates the Jews… hmmm… not a good choice at all.2nd. Ishmael was not the only divergent distant family member (who was not included in the Messianic line of ancestors) that produced a nation before the Israelites. Abraham had Isaac (the promised child) and Ishmael (Abraham and Sarah’s attempt to try to accomplish God’s promise through their own efforts with one of Sarah’s servant women rather than trusting God’s word that the promised child would come from Sarah herself – Genesis 12:2-4, 15:1-21, 16:1-6, 17:1-14, 17:15-21, 18:10-15, 21:1-13, Proverbs 3:5-6, Romans 4 [see all, but specifically vs18-22], Hebrews 11:11-21). Then Isaac had Jacob (that God chose) and Esau (who God did not choose, notice how it sounds very familiar to Isa, which is not the Arabic name for Jesus, but it is how the Quran refers to Jesus for some reason). Esau, like Ishmael, also produced a nation which were at times in conflict with the Israelites, and are referred to as the Israelite’s brothers (Deuteronomy 2:4-5).

3rd. Jacob (who God later changed to “Israel”) had 12 sons, which became the 12 tribes of Israel, and they referred to their fellow tribes as brothers, as we see throughout the Scriptures. For example, the Levites would have no inheritance among their brothers (clearly the Israelites in context, their inheritance was not in large land allotments and possessions but in serving the LORD at the temple and having things shared with them from their brothers the other tribes of Israel) – Deuteronomy 18:2; and the Israelites were commanded that they could not have foreigners rule over them who were not their brother, they could only have one of their brothers ruling over them – Deuteronomy 17:15; etc. Even all the way up to Acts 2:37, where the Jewish crowd who had gathered around Jesus’ Disciples (after the promised Holy Spirit had filled them) addressed the Disciples (themselves beings Jews) as “Men and brethren”. I’ve also seen where Muslims want brothers to mean kinsman, etc… which is utterly absurd to apply to Ishmael, because a kinsman was a very common part of Jewish life and law; For one of many examples, Ruth the Moabite had become the daughter in law of a Jewish woman called Naomi (which was not supposed to have happened, but it did) and decided that her people would be her people and her God would be her God, and it was a member of Noami’s Jewish family that served as her and Naomi’s kinsman redeemer, you can read about that in the book of Ruth.

4th. The Bible confirms over and over and over again (even in the lips of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ) that the LORD is the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob and that His covenant follows through them… the promises of God to Abraham follow that line, not Ishmael. For example, see: Exodus 2:24-25, 3:14-15 [cross reference God’s title with John 8:58], 2 Kings 13:23, Psalms 105:7-10 [note: it’s an everlasting covenant with Israel], etc. In fact, God says DIRECTLY to Abraham that while He would still bless Ishmael to multiply greatly (the unpromised child through man’s effort), His covenant would be established through Isaac – the promised child through faith in God (Genesis 17:21).

(Even the Quran says that the Scriptures and prophethood were given to Abraham’s descendants, Isaac and Jacob [and made them prophets, and righteous, and leaders guiding by Allah’s {“Our”} command, and inspired them in doing good deeds, establishment of prayer, and giving of zakah, and they were worshippers of Allah {“Us”}], and does not mention Ishmael in these verses – Q29:27, 19:49, 21:72-73; and gave the children of Israel the Scriptures and judgement and prophethood, and preferred them over the worlds – Q45:16, 2:47; and Joseph said he followed the religion of his fathers: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob – Q12:38).

5th. One of the backdrops of Deuteronomy 18, just before the prophesy at hand, is for the Israelites NOT to look to or emulate the practices of the nations around them (vs 9-14). Interestingly, as a side note, some of the things God tells the Israelites not to do, and people not to look to, are practices that Muhammad may have been into – see videos on Islam Critiqued’s Youtube channel about Muhammad and Merkabah mysticism (mysticism, mystic, etc). https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcKkCtaMM1wjY1BXyoW8_-w/search?query=Merkabah+mysticism

In conclusion, there’s simply no room or precedence in the Bible (or even in the Quran, that I’m aware of) for an important prophet to the Israelites (and the world) to come from Ishmael. BUT WE’RE NOT QUITE FINISHED YET… LET’S LOOK AT THE TEXT AGAIN…

Now what does the text actually SAY?

The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; (v15)

I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. (v18)

What’s the scenario here? Moses is talking TO THE ISRAELITES (12 tribes [from 12 brothers] who see each other as brethren), and he tells them that the Prophet would come FROM THE MIDST OF THEM, of their brethren. That word “midst” is the Hebrew word qereb (קֶרֶב), which means “inward part”, or “midst”. Moses is looking and talking to the Israelites and is telling them that the Prophet would come from INSIDE OF THEM. The Prophet had to be an Israelite! If you want to treat the text honestly, you can’t come to another conclusion.

  1. the Prophet had to be like unto Moses.

I’ve talked with more than one Muslim about this, and the reasons they give for why this applies to Muhammad are usually very general points that can apply to many people, some which could apply to other prophets, others that can apply to general people. Not only that, but they can also often apply to Jesus as well, but the Muslim doesn’t realize how. For example, they’ll say that both Moses and Muhammad led wars, or that both Moses and Muhammad got married. Whoopty-doo! Many people have led/guided wars and/or been married, including some other Biblical prophets. Not only so, Jesus made war in the spirit whelm, destroying the works of the Devil, healing people, and casting out evil spirits; And He will judge the nations with a rod of Iron in the future as He rules as King of kings and Lord of lords, and eventually judge everyone and destroy all evil. Jesus also has a Bride, called the Bride of Christ, which is the Church, according to the Bible.

One other funny one is that both Moses and Muhammad had natural births, while Jesus had a supernatural birth. Humorously, the most recent Muslim I heard this argument from anticipated that I might say that both Moses and Jesus were Jews… and that I couldn’t say that (even though the text requires it) because there were many Jewish prophets… not seeming to realize that every person ever, including all prophets (except Jesus) also had natural births! Lol 😀 Now, the fact that Jesus did have a supernatural birth doesn’t disqualify Him from being like Moses, and it has very profound implications (like being the Only Begotten Son of God) that Muslims will ignore. Another argument might be that Muhammad and Moses were both people but Christians claim Jesus is God, so how can that work? First of all, you’d have to be willing to concede that Jesus is God to make that argument. Secondly, you’d have to ignore the implications of the incarnation, where the Word of God took on flesh (John 1:14 & context, which even the Quran essentially says as well – Q4:171, having no idea of the implications that this title implies [John 1:1-3, etc. – even in the Quran, Allah spoke everything into existence]). Thirdly, every other person on the planet, including all other prophets have been human beings. Again, a very lame argument with no weight.  We’ll talk about some more Muslim points like these later in this paper.

Now I’ve got a list of many specific supernatural similarities/connections between Moses and Jesus. For example (among quite a few – which we shall also discuss later in more detail in this paper, with references), both Jesus and Moses:
-Ate no food for 40 days and nights. The only other person to have done this in the Bible is Elijah, and that was noted as a single meal giving him the strength for 40 days as he fled for safety. Interestingly it is both Moses and Elijah who appeared with Jesus when He was transfigured on the Mountain before some of His disciples.
-Had miracles related to food, feeding thousands of people.
-Lived lives of many huge public miracles.

-Had glowing faces of light at certain points in time. The only difference is that Jesus glowed with His own glory, whereas Moses glowed from being in the presence of God, which I believe was the pre-incarnate Christ.
-Knew and talked with God face-to-face.
-AND MANY MORE WHICH WE’LL DISCUSS LATER.

And I’ll even add that they both set people free from bondage (obviously, God led the people of Israel out of physical bondage in Egypt through Moses – see the book of Exodus, etc.; Whereas Jesus leads everyone that comes to Him out of spiritual bondage to sin, death, & Hell, and gives them eternal life – John 3:14-21, 3:36, 5:24, 5:39-40, 6, 8:31-36, 10:24-30, 11:25-26, Romans 8:2, and many others; And even from physical slavery – Galatians 3:28 & Philemon v16 for example). And of course, we can also add that they were both Jews.

*Now, despite whatever connections I or you want to make between Moses and Jesus or Muhammad (which we’ll discuss later), Deuteronomy is very clear with what being a prophet like unto Moses means. Deuteronomy 34:10-12, the very end of the same book, says this:

“10. And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,

  1. In all the signs and the wonders, which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,
  2. And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses shewed in the sight of all Israel.”I’d encourage all Muslims to read about Moses in the Bible, but right here, there are two major explanations to what it means to be a prophet like Moses:1. Know the LORD face to face.
    2. Many mighty miracles done in public.

Now Jesus and the Gospel writers claim in many places that Jesus preexisted with God the Father and as God. And we all know that one thing that defined Jesus’ life were His many mighty miracles done in public. One might also argue that the verses above also speak of the plagues of Egypt… if so, then read the book of Revelation, Jesus initiates the wrath of God on the Earth in the End Days, including plagues (REFERENCES).

Muhammad, on the other hand, never saw God face to face, let alone a life of knowing God face to face, nor was he known for many mighty miracles done in public. Muhammad always received revelations from the twisted version of the angel “Gabriel” (or, I believe, a demon pretending to be Gabriel… or Muhammad’s imagination). But what about Muhammad’s Night Travel? EXPLAIN, MOCK, MUSLIM PERSPECTIVES – did Muhammad actually see Allah?. Now as to many mighty miracles in public, Allah in the Quran denounces the idea that Muhammad would do any miracles (REFERENCES), nonetheless, Muslims want to contradict the Quran with some Hadiths of Muhammad splitting the moon; having miraculous spit, sweat, & pee, lol; and the Earth swallowing up his feces 😀 😀 😀 (REFERENCES). Do you want to believe the Quran or the Hadiths on this one? Up to you. Regardless, those are really strange and unsubstantiated “miracles”, and there’s simply no comparison when you look at the number and magnitude of mighty miracles done through Moses and Jesus in public (including some miracles that have some cross over: bringing food in the desert / multiplying food in a remote place, walking through the sea / walking on the sea, turning the water to blood / turning water to wine, faces glowing with light on a mountain from being in God’s presence [Jesus was His own glory], eating no food for 40 days and nights, setting the Israelites free / setting sinners free, bringing water out of a rock / being the Rock that living water comes out of, plagues with the weather [hail] / controlling the weather, etc).

Jesus even prayed on occasion looking up to Heaven to the Father, not supposed to do that in Islam.
John 1:18, 6:46, Matthew 11:27

Now, all that said, I’ll top that with the fact that Allah is NOT the true God YeHoVaH of the Bible, but again, I won’t push that point too hard for now, as it’s a different subject.

(two papers on this topic)

  1. the Prophet had to speak all the words that the LORD commanded Him to speak, in His name.

Jesus said that He came in His Father’s name (REFERENCE), and that He spoke and did whatever the Father spoke and did (REFERENCE), and that His words from the Father (REFERENCE). He said that His words are spirit and are life (REFERENCE). He said that He always did what was pleasing to the Father (REFERENCE). Muhammad did and said things that his Allah apparently was displeased with and did not tell him to say (like promising his wives that he would stop having sex with his slave girl, or adopting a son whose wife he would later take for himself, causing their divorce after he caused the marriage because he lusted after her, and then abolished adoption – REFERENCES), and also gave revelations admittedly from Satan (REFERENCES). Not to mention receiving “revelations” that completely contradict what the true God of the Bible had already revealed in the Bible.

Jesus Said Specifically That Moses And The Prophets Spoke Of Him – And That The Scriptures Testified About Him:

John 5:39-47 reads:

“39. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

  1. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
  2. I receive not honour from men.
  3. But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
  4. I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
  5. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that comethfrom God only?
  6. Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is onethat accuseth you, evenMoses, in whom ye trust.
  7. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
  8. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

Luke 24:25-27 reads:
25. Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:

  1. Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
  2. And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Luke 24:44-49 reads:
44. And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

  1. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
  2. And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
  3. And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
  4. And ye are witnesses of these things.
  5. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Others Believed That Jesus Was That Prophet:

John 1:45 reads:
Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

John 6:14 reads:
Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.

John 7:37-44 reads:
37. In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

  1. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
  2. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
  3. Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.
  4. Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?
  5. Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
  6. So there was a division among the people because of him.
  7. And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.”(Three notes: 1. Jesus was physically born in Bethlehem [as prophesied of the Messiah –Micah 5:2, which also says the Messiah pre-exists His appearing since forever ago and has had goings forth since forever, which is another entire topic], but He was raised in Nazareth [or Netzeret – which rolls into another Messianic prophesy – REFERENCES and Explain], and also did a lot of ministry in Galilee of the Gentiles [another Messianic prophesy – REFERENCES]. 2. Jesus’ reference of Himself giving living water [also see John 4:1-42] points to one of God’s descriptions in the Old Testament as the spring of living waters [Jeremiah 2:12-13]. 3. Just because some Jews made a distinction between The Prophet and The Christ/Messiah does not mean they were right, and in fact Jesus’ disciples [themselves Jews, and followers & close companions of Jesus] believed He was both [and more], as you’ll see below in Peter’s address to a crowd after a paralyzed man had been healed in Jesus’ name).

Acts 3:12-26 (Peter’s speech to the crowd after a lame man is healed in the name of Jesus) reads:
12. And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

  1. The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let himgo.
  2. But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
  3. And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
  4. And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
  5. And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as didalso your rulers.
  6. But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.
  7. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
  8. And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
  9. Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
  10. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
  11. And it shall come to pass, thatevery soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
  12. Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
  13. Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
  14. Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

Specific Similarities Between Jesus and Moses:

Now if I wanted to go the route of the Muslims’ “logic” then I might start with something like: both Jesus and Moses were men 😀 😀 😀 But unlike the poor Muslims, we actually have GOOD reasons for Jesus being like Moses, because this prophesy IS about Him.

First, as we’ve mentioned, Jesus knew the Father face to face, as the Bible says of Moses. And Jesus performed many mighty miracles in public, as did Moses. We’ve also discussed how this can’t apply to Muhammad. And yet, these are the very two qualifications that Deuteronomy gives for being a prophet like unto Moses! And of course, yes, Jesus was an Israelite, which IS a requirement (apart from the distinction of being like Moses), He was raised up by the LORD, and He did speak all that the LORD commanded Him to speak, and did so in His name. Furthermore, He DID NOT do anything in verses 20-22, which we shall read later on.

Second, we might as well dispel some of the Muslim’s lame claims for Muhammad being like Moses by showing that they apply to Jesus as well, and also showing how silly and general they are. Also notice: NONE OF THESE FIT THE EXPLANATION PASSAGE OF BEING A PROPHET LIKE MOSES IN DEUTERONOMY 34:10-12! Aka: knowing God face to face (on a continual basis), and all of the huge public miracles (also on a fairly regular basis, at least for an extended period of time).

Moses and Muhammad had normal births, Jesus had a supernatural one. So has every other person and prophet on the planet (except Jesus)! How about Jesus and Moses were both born by women! Oooooh. Lol. I’ve also heard that according to tradition, Moses’ mother outlived him, meaning that both Jesus and Moses knew their mothers longer than Muhammad did! Oooooooh. Lol. And if true, then both Jesus’ and Moses’ mothers outlived them, while Muhammad outlived his mother! Ooooooooooooh! Lol. And the Bible speaks of Jesus and Moses’ mothers, but not of Muhammad’s mother, not only that but while the Quran speaks on Jesus’ mother, it doesn’t even mention Muhammad’s! OOOOOOOOOOOH! Lol. Of course these are lame arguments, I’m trying to give the Muslim a taste of their own medicine. And of course, the virgin birth, while not disqualifying Jesus to be the Prophet like Moses in the least, does have far larger implications, mainly making Him the Only Begotten Son of God (which by the way, some Jews did associate the Prophet with being the Christ/Messiah, the Son of God, and the King of Israel – after Philip told Nathanael in John 1 that they had found the one that Moses and the prophets wrote about, Nathanael called Jesus the Son of God and the King of Israel; when the crowd said that Jesus was that prophet that should come into the world in John 6, Jesus knew that they wanted to make Him king, but it wasn’t the right time, so He left them; In Peter’s address to the crowd in Acts 3, He says that Jesus is the Holy One and the Just, the Prince of life, Christ/Messiah, the prophet that Moses wrote about, God’s Son, the seed of Abraham that would bless all the kindreds of the Earth; etc.).

Both Muhammad and Moses led battles. Lol, ok. Many people have led and/or been involved in battles, including other prophets. Jesus made war in the spirit whelm, destroying the works of the Devil, healing people, and casting out evil spirits; And He will judge the nations with a rod of Iron in the future as He rules as King of kings and Lord of lords, and eventually judge everyone and destroy all evil.

Both Muhammad and Moses were married. Again, so have many people throughout history, including other prophets. But wait! Muhammad had 9 – 11 wives (and allowed his followers to have four wives at a time, not to mention sex slaves, not to mention prostitutes [Mutahs – temporary paid “wives”]), but Moses only had 2 wives… tsk, tsk, I guess they’re not the same after all, lol. And Jesus DOES have a bride, called the Bride of Christ, which is the Church, according to the Bible, and the marriage will be the future marriage supper of the Lamb, which I hope you will make it to, through the straight path, the Way, and the narrow Door, which is Jesus.

Both Muhammad and Moses were humans, Christians claim that Jesus is God. Great! Are you willing to accept that fact? J Guess what? Every person in history, including other prophets, were humans, lol. Not only that, but Jesus, the Word of God, took on flesh, He left Heaven, left the Father’s bosom, set aside His glory, and took on a humble human body.

Muhammad was illiterate and Moses had a speech impediment. Have you heard this one? Oye. Moses had just spend decades in the wilderness with sheep, and was dealing with some past issues I’m sure (as was Muhammad probably), but he WAS NOT illiterate! Moses was raised in the Pharaoh’s household (not to mention by his Jewish parents), he would have been VERY WELL educated and very literate. After all, he wrote the first five books of the Bible (Genesis or parts of Genesis may well have been from other eye-witness accounts), see Tim Mahoney’s film about Moses and early Hebrew writing. I don’t remember hearing that Muhammad had a speech impediment (I could be wrong), but he was certainly illiterate, so this is not a valid point. Not only that, but if you really wanted to stress this line of reasoning, then Jesus Himself was also definitely literate, being able to read at least (and being God in a human body, He knew everything, even what people were thinking and doing out of natural sight), so in that regard, this line of reasoning actually applies completely to Jesus and zero to Muhammad!

*These next two come courtesy of Dr.(?) Nadir Ahmed (ORGANIZATION), from his conversation/debate(?) with Dr. Michael Brown (ORGANIZATION) – a follow up to Dr. Brown’s interview with David Wood about Muhammad in the Bible on the Acts17Apologetics channel, which I watched on Islam Critiqued’s channel (“Dr. Brown vs A Clown: Muhammad in Deuteronomy 18”). I personally found it both amusing and frustrating, thanks to Ahmed, I think Dr. Brown may have felt very similar. I took the following two points because I believe I’d already covered the other one or two that Ahmed had up above before I had watched the video, based on what I’ve heard from other Muslims.

Muhammad and Moses both made historic migrations. I assume he is referring to Muhammad’s return to Mecca from Medina in 629 AD with an army of 1,500 converts (after leaving Mecca for provoking the pagans to anger by reviling their ancestors and beliefs, vowing revenge on some, and then adopting some of their pagan practices and worship location when he came back, and then stopping them from participating). So, 1,500 converts not leaving persecution or slavery in Medina, but simply returning to the pagan-apple of Muhammad’s eye: Mecca, to take it over and adopt its pagan-ness for his own religion. And don’t forget this was after he attacked Medina. This is ABSOLUTELY PUNY compared to the estimated 1-3 million Israelites that Moses led out of Egypt (though it was actually the LORD leading them out through Moses)… and they were escaping persecution and slavery in Egypt (they did not invade or attack Egypt), and were NOT to adopt the pagan practices in the Promised Land that God promised them. So, not EXACTLY a strong correlation there, in fact quite a weak one with some opposite factors involved as well. This army of men with Muhammad is even rather small compared to some of the crowds that followed Jesus around. For example, just one of the two times Jesus multiplied food for the masses, there were 5,000 men, not including women and children, so it could have easily been 10,000-20,000 people total. Don’t forget Jesus regularly travelled a fair distance with His disciples and followers for the Jewish feasts, and for His ministry. Not only so, but when you hear (believe and obey) Jesus’ words and believe on Him that sent Him, you PASS from death to life (John 5:24 [also see 1 John 3:14 – and the whole chapter])… THAT’S THE BIGGEST MIGRATION YOU’LL EVER MAKE! And since then, millions and perhaps billions of people have made that migration (and you should too). That is truly historic… it changed history. Not only so, but Jesus said that He’s going to come and bring us to where He is in Heaven, having prepared a place for us (the rapture, as well as everyone who dies in the Lord) – see John 14, which is also a HUGE migration. Not only so, but when Jesus/Yeshua returns in His Second Coming, He is bringing Heaven to Earth, and ten thousands upon ten thousands of His Saints and His Holy angels will be coming with Him to invade this planet (which belongs to Him) and get rid of all evil, that’s also a HUGE migration (REFERENCES). Worship at Jerusalem… graves to life…. Jesus led them (New Testament correlation between Jesus and Israel coming out of Egypt, or Jesus leading them out of Egypt).

-Muhammad and Moses both created a Theocratic state. While these Theocratic states were not the same, and Muhammad clearly sought his own interests (even Aisha, Muhammad’s child bride, said that it seemed like Allah rushed to fulfill Muhammad’s desires), believe it or not… Jesus started a Theocratic state as well!
1 Peter 2:9-12 (bolding mine) says: “9. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10. Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 11. Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 12. Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
Not only so, but when Christ returns, He will make the whole world a Theocratic state!
Again, we see that there is a spiritual correlation here between Jesus and Moses, even using this weak Muslim line of argument.

Again, none of these Muslim arguments match the explanatory passage of being a prophet like Moses in Deuteronomy 34:10-12.

Did I miss any other lame Muslim arguments?

Third
, now that we’ve seen that YESHUA/JESUS:

-Meets all of the Biblical requirements of the Deuteronomy 18:15-19 passage including the clarification passage of Deuteronomy 34:10-12 (and doesn’t match any of the disqualifying factors of Deut 18:20-22, which we’ll discuss later),

-That other people believed that He was that Prophet like Moses,

-That He Himself said that Moses wrote about Him, and that the Scriptures and the prophets testify of Him,

-And that He pretty much matches Moses even using the Muslims’ very general and poor attempts to match Muhammad with Moses (none of which match the explanatory verses), but in an even greater way…

*Let’s see some MORE extremely specific and often supernatural connections between Jesus and Moses, very few of which can apply to anyone else:
The following points were largely taken from a currently postponed & more extensive work in progress called “The Prophet In Deuteronomy – Jesus or Muhammad?”, which explores extensively not only why the Prophet has to be Jesus but also cannot be Muhammad, which you can view here. One caveat, when I say Moses did something, it was through God’s power, of course. Remember, these are IN ADDITION to meeting ALL of the requirements in Deuteronomy 18:15-19 and 34:10-12 (clarification passage for being a prophet like Moses – which, actually many of these match the explanatory passage as well), as well as to all of the lame comparisons Muslims try to make for Muhammad, which work for Jesus in a greater way when you understand what the Bible says.

#1. No one had given commandments from God since Moses, but Jesus did – “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (John 13:34-35). And in fact, I believe Jesus gave the 10 Commandments to Moses in the first place (REFERENCES?), being God’s image that we can see (REFERENCE) and was seen by the Patriarchs (REFERENCES), Who has been going forth since times everlasting (REFERENCE), and yet you can’t see the face of God and live (REFERENCE) – in full glory of course, but that’s another extensive topic. And unlike Muhammad, Jesus actually kept the 10 Commandments (among the other laws). Jesus kept the law, taught the law, referred people back to the law, condensed the law, explained and clarified the law, fulfilled the law, and gave a new law. Muhammad broke the law. He needed the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of his sins, and to be Born Again through the Holy Spirit Whom Jesus sends (REFERENCES), just as much as any other Muslim or any other person does – which is what the law was meant to lead us to: God’s grace in Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach. Not only so, but Moses brought the original commandments from God, and would not have added tradition to it. Jesus, similarly, constantly rebuked the Pharisees and other religious leaders for their traditions nullifying God’s word (His commandments) (see Matthew 15:3 and Mark 7:13) and for adding to and subtracting from God’s word, which God said don’t do, in Deuteronomy 4:2, 12:32, Proverbs 30:5-6, and Revelation 22:18-19, but as discussed in this link, Muhammad had plenty of traditions in the Quran which were supposed to be Scriptures but really weren’t – and he even changed those from their original texts as well (for example, Jesus talking as a baby [Suras 3:46 and 19:29-33] which is derived from late, Gnostic, Pseudo-Gospel traditions [not actual Scriptures]; and the saying about “saving one life being like saving the whole of humanity” [Sura 5:32] being derived from the Jewish Talmud, which is commentary, not Scripture; etc, etc, etc. By the way, Muslims, in Sura 19:33, in the Quran, baby Jesus predicts His death and resurrection). Still on the subject of adding and taking away from God’s word, Muhammad also denied basic Biblical Christian doctrines, such as the death, resurrection, and Deity of Christ. It’s also clear from multiple passages that he didn’t understand the Bible very well – and had misconceptions both about Jewish and Christian beliefs (actually, apparently, Allah had these misconceptions, and passed them on to Muhammad and all Muslims as “revelation”) (for example, the false conception that the doctrine of the Trinity is the Father, the Son, and Mary the Mother – which is blaspheme in Christianity [see Sura 5:116] [it is actually, and has always been, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, derived from multiple passages in both the Old and New Testaments, but that’s another video], and also the false conception that the Jews called Ezra the Son of God [see Sura 9:30], which Jews never believed, nor is it in any Old Testament Scripture. Even if you try to say that a small minority of obscure Jews might have believed that… sometime, somewhere, in the past… who had absolutely no impact on the overall Jewish population’s beliefs or Scriptures –  why would that constitute an everlasting verse from heaven to address Jews in general for all times? Think about it).

Side note: Isaiah 8:20 reads:
“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” Taking into consideration the inspiration, preservation, and authority of everything the Bible says, think of this verse, and what the Bible does actually say as you learn more about the life of Muhammad, not just what he claimed (some of which would appear to adhere to this, while some of which clearly does not), but also what he did.

Ok, back to Jesus’ connections to Moses, #1 was that both Moses and Jesus gave new commandments

#2. Moses & Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights without food. I was actually surprised to find this out, but I was looking for what the significance of Jesus fasting for 40 days and nights without food was (Matthew 4:2 – also read verses 1-11) – aside from being miraculous, an extreme test of His flesh, overcoming Satan’s temptations, and launching into His ministry – and I found that Moses had done the same thing (Exodus 34:28)! If that’s not a distinguishing marker, than I don’t know what is! The only other person in the Bible recorded as having ever done that (that I’m aware of) was Elijah (1 Kings 19:8) – so, the greatest law giver up until Jesus, the greatest prophet up until Jesus, and God Himself in human flesh, Jesus (Who gave Moses the law, and Who is the Prophet like unto Moses), all fasted for 40 days and nights – these three get together later, as you will see. The only difference between Moses’ fasting and Jesus’ fasting, aside from the location and purpose of their fasting, is that Moses is recorded as having not eaten any food or drunk ANY WATER, whereas with Jesus it just mentions that He didn’t eat any food, though I imagine He didn’t drink any water either… He was in the desert. But, it may have been intentional to leave that out, since Jesus told the woman at the well that He would give people LIVING water, and that those people would never thirst, but that the water that Jesus will give them will be a well of water springing up into everlasting life – speaking of course of the Holy Spirit (see the encounter in John 4:1-42, also see John 7:37-39) – which points us to one of God’s descriptions in the Old Testament as the spring of living waters (Jeremiah 2:12-13) – but that’s another subject. On a side note, in John 4, Jesus reveals to this half Jew, half Gentile woman, that He, the One talking with her, the source of living water, is the Messiah.

So only Moses, Jesus, and Elijah are mentioned as fasting without food for 40 days and  nights (Elijah, it says that he had a meal, and it essentially gave him strength for that time). Interestingly, it is Moses and Elijah that appear and talk with Jesus about His soon crucifixion, when He was transfigured before His disciples on the mount (REFERENCES).
#3. Both Moses and Jesus saw miracles of food to feed the multitudes in remote places. Moses saw manna from Heaven, and flocks of quails (REFERENCES), notice two distinct miracles; Jesus multiplied bread on two separate occasions (one time included fish as well, two kinds of food) – REFERENCES. Additionally, Jesus claimed to be the true bread from Heaven (the Bread of Life), making a comparison with the manna in the wilderness (John 6), and saying how Moses did not give the manna, but the Father in Heaven, and that He had been sent down from Heaven out of God the Father (REFERENCES).

#4. Walking through and on the sea, and bringing people with them. Moses walked through the water of the Red Sea (REFERENCES); Jesus walked on the water of the sea of Galilee (REFERENCES). Furthermore, Moses led other people with him through the sea, and Jesus invited Peter to walk on the water, which he did.

#5. Moses turned the water to blood (REFERENCES); Jesus turned water to wine (REFERENCES). Interesting fact, Jesus compared His future spilt blood (for a New Covenant and the forgiveness of sins in His name) with a cup of wine (REFERENCES).

#6. Moses saw miracles concerning the weather (REFERENCES); Jesus controlled the weather (REFERENCES).

#7. Moses set the Israelites free and led them to the land of Promise and rest (REFERENCES); Jesus sets sinners free and leads them to Eternal Life and peace/rest (REFERENCES), He’s also the Prince of Peace (REFERENCE).

#8. Both Moses and Jesus saw God, and knew Him face-to-face – the only difference being that Jesus was probably the One that Moses saw (as did the 70 elders of Israel with him, and as did other patriarchs of the faith in the Old Testament) (for example, Exodus 24:9-11, 33:18-23 [notice that no one can see God’s face and live], Genesis 17 & 18, 26:2 & 24, and 32:24-30, etc [notice Jacob said he saw God face to face, and Abraham walked and talked with Him]) ~ but that would require going into a long conversation about how Jesus is God, and the complex & Triune nature of God, which is not the point of this video – but I am currently writing a book on the subject, and it’s a much deeper subject than even most Christians realize. Also, Jesus didn’t just have some once-in-a-lifetime moment where He saw the God of Israel… being the God of Israel, part of the Trinity, He lived with God the Father and the Holy Spirit, as One, in Heaven, before coming to the Earth and becoming a man. Jesus even makes such claims about Himself (for example, REFERENCES – no one seen God the Father accept the Son, I came down from Heaven, I’m from above you are from below, I and the Father are One, etc). FACE TO FACE. Always before His face, came from Heaven, whom the Lord knew face to face, looked up to Heaven, etc.

Muhammad never saw his Allah, except once in his brief so-called Night Journey (dream), but even Muslims have much disagreement on whether or not he actually saw their Allah or simply some representation. It is notable that several Hadiths say that not only does Allah have physical attributes, and not only will Muslims see their Allah someday, and not only will he appear to them in a different form, and not only that the Dadjal looks neary identical to him, but also that Muslims are supposed to know what he looks like and what his shin looks like. (REFERENCES).

#5. Faces shown with light. Both Jesus and Moses had literal light shining from their faces. For Moses, this happened when he came down from Mt. Sinai, in Arabia, after being in the presence of God. His face continued to shine and it freaked the people out so much that a covering was put over his face (Exodus 34:29-35). Jesus’ face also lit up with light. At the transfiguration (also on a mountain) Jesus revealed part of His glory to some of His disciples (Peter, James, and John). His face shined like the sun, and His clothes became shining, glistening, white (more so than any cleaner or bleach could ever do) (see Matthew 17:1–8, Mark 9:2–8, Luke 9:28–36, and 2 Peter 1:16-18). We also see a similar image of Jesus in the Disciple John’s revelatory vision (see Revelation 1:10-20). The difference of course is that Moses had some sort of residue of God’s presence and glory still on him, and he couldn’t control it, whereas Jesus was revealing some of His own glory, and He had control over it, it would seem. Moses hadn’t intended it to happen, but Jesus did, for His disciple’s sake.

Moses went up on the Mountain with God (Jesus) and came down with his face shining with light (REFERENCES); Jesus took some of His disciples on a mountain and His face shone with light (REFERENCES).

#6. Other people heard God’s audible voice under both Moses’ and Jesus’ ministries. Under Moses’ leadership the people of Israel audibly heard God’s voice at Mt. Sinai, and it frightened them so badly that they thought they were going to die if it continued (Exodus 20:1-21 and Deuteronomy 5:1-27). Likewise, at the Transfiguration, God the Father audibly spoke out of Heaven to the disciples that were there on the mountain, and they fell like dead men from fear. At Mt. Sinai, God audibly spoke the 10 Commandments. At the Transfiguration, God audibly said: “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.” This by the way was not the only time that God had audibly spoke from Heaven during Jesus’ ministry. At Jesus’ baptism, which was really more of a necessary formality for the fulfillment of all righteousness, and not because He personally needed it (go read the story for yourself), God the Father spoke and said: “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (see Matthew 3:13-17). God the Father audibly spoke from Heaven again in John 12… but I’ll leave that for you to find and read for yourself… learn a little bit about King Jesus – read the whole chapter (try to use a KJV – link in the description).

#7. Other people saw the physical manifestation of God’s presence under both Moses’ and Jesus’ ministries. Under Moses, God’s presence appeared by day to the children of Israel as a pillar of cloud which led them around the desert, and as a pillar of fire by night (Exodus 13:21-22). Again, at the Transfiguration, a cloud overshadowed the disciples, and that’s when they heard God’s voice. By the way, God’s presence (or His glory) is noted as having appeared as a cloud (or cloud-like substance) in multiple Old Testament passages, such as in 1 Kings 8:10-12 and 2 Chronicles 5:13-14 & 6:1. Interesting note on the fire, Jesus will baptize with fire (REFERENCES), and in His glorified state, His eyes shine like blazing fire (REFERENCE).

#8. Jesus was the fulfilled reality of the brass serpent that God told Moses to lift up on a pole in the wilderness for the people to look at and be healed from deadly snake bites, a prophetic shadow picture of Christ on the cross (Numbers 21:4-9 and John 3:14-15, feel free to read the rest of John chapter 3 as well).

#9. Moses saw water come out of the rock in the desert (REFERENCES); Jesus is The Rock from Whom living water flows (REFERENCES – the rock, living water [the well, the temple, etc], Hebrews comparison). There is even a prophetic fulfillment in Jesus of Moses striking the rock in the wilderness and water gushing and flowing out to water the Israelites and their livestock in the desert. Jesus is The Rock (which is God, but that’s another discussion), Who gives Living Water (another description for the Holy Spirit – which we have discussed – in part – above) to all who are thirsty and come to Him (see Numbers 20:2-11 and 1 Corinthians 10:4 concerning the prophetic connection – in part – between Jesus and the Rock which brought fourth water during Moses’ time).

#10. Both Moses and Jesus were delivered from a mass killing of Jewish infants by tyrannical rulers. When Moses was a baby, Pharaoh ordered all the Jewish baby boys to be thrown into the river. Moses escaped. When Jesus was around two years old, Herod ordered all the Jewish baby boys two years old and under to be slaughtered. Jesus escaped.

And this is a more general point, but both Moses and Jesus came out of Egypt… Moses being born there, leaving when he fled for his life, and also again when he returned and was used by God to bring the Israelites out of Egypt. And Jesus when His mother and Joseph fled with Him into Egypt, they later came out when an angel told Joseph it was ok to return (and thus fulfilled a prophesy in the Old Testament for Jesus, in Matthew). On a related note, Israel coming out of Egypt is called God’s Son (REFERENCE), and the same is true of Jesus (REFERENCE).

So, as we can see, Jesus is CLEARLY the one spoken of in Deuteronomy 18:15-19 (also see 34:10-12).

Also, regarding death: Moses died on a mountain and Jesus on a hill; AND no one ever found their dead bodies after burial (for Jesus because He rose from the dead, and for Moses because God Himself buried him and no one knew where the grave was – REF); AND also both Jesus and Moses were seen after death, Jesus to His disciples as recorded in the Gospels and prophesied in the Old Testament – such as Isaiah 53 – (and countless others since, including to former Muslims), and Moses (being alive to God, as Jesus said in REF) was seen by some of Jesus’ disciples when Jesus was transfigured before them on the mount and Moses & Elijah came and talked with Him about His soon crucifixion just outside of Jerusalem – REFs.

BUT WE’RE STILL NOT DONE!!!

That’s right, there’s EVEN MORE!

For example, both Jesus and Moses taught that God is a Father! A Theological point which Muhammad rejected (as both he and his Allah totally misunderstood the concept – or deliberately tried to misrepresent it – as they did to other concepts, like the Trinity). Now, I don’t need to show you specific examples of Jesus referring to God as Father (more specifically HIS Father, in a completely unique sense), because all you need to do is crack open the Gospel, and you’ll find it probably fairly quickly. But Moses? Yes, Moses too referred to God as a Father.

Deuteronomy 32:6 says:
Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?

Moses even referred to the Israelites as the children of God, Deuteronomy 14:1 says:
Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.

And God even told Moses to tell Pharaoh that Israel was His son and His firstborn,
Exodus 4:22-23 says:
And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn: And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.

In fact, the other prophets knew that God is a Father as well, for example, see Jeremiah 3:19, 31:9, Isaiah 63:16, 64:8, 1 Chronicles 29:10, Malachi 1:6, 2:10, Psalm 103:13, and also Proverbs 3:12 (though king Solomon was not considered a prophet, God gave him great wisdom). God also calls people His children and sons, for example, see: Hosea 1:10, Isaiah 1:2, Psalm 82:6. God even calls Israel His son (singular), such as in Exodus 4:22-23 and Hosea 11:1 (prophetically foreshadowing Jesus – REFERENCE). And the Scripture also speaks about a very special and Divine, Only Begotten Son, that we must honour and reverence: see Proverbs 30:4 and Psalm 2, also see my video on the Son of God in the Old Testament. Jesus’ disciples also knew this fundamental Theological truth that’s so abundantly found in the Scriptures and which they heard Jesus teach, and included it in their writings in the New Testament as well.

You’d think Muhammad would have gotten the message… oh wait, he couldn’t read. Well then, you’d think his Allah would have remembered these revelations… oh wait, maybe he abrogated them 😀 No, he flat out denied them, because he’s not the true God of the Bible.

Also, both Jesus and Moses knew of the multi-personal complex nature of God. This is quite an extensive topic that I don’t want to find all the references for at the moment, so I’ll just give a few examples.

Genesis 19:24 says:
Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;

This was right after God had physically appeared to Abraham and walked and talked with him (even eating), which was not the only time He had physically come to him (or to the other Patriarchs and some of the prophets), and then after Abraham tried to bargain with God not to destroy the cities for fewer and fewer righteous people that might be found there, God finally left to destroy the cities. As you can see, we have YeHoVaH (God’s proper name) on Earth, and YeHoVaH in Heaven, working in unison to destroy the cities of the plain.

Remember how Jesus said that Moses wrote about Him (REF – and in fact that all of the prophets wrote of Him [REF], and that the Scriptures are about Him [REF])? Concerning Moses writing about Him, we might well believe He was (partly) referring to Deuteronomy 18:15-19, but could He also have been referring to times in the Torah when God physically manifested Himself to the Patriarchs and prophets, like in the form of a man to Abraham in Genesis 19 (the same chapter as above, and other passages), or in a flaming bush to Moses in Exodus 3 (and later in other forms), among other times to other people (REFS examples)?

In John 8:56-59 (special attention to John 8:58), it says (Jesus starting):
“56. You father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57. Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58. Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
59. Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.”

In verse 56, Jesus said that Abraham rejoiced to see His (Jesus’) day, and saw it and was glad. Now perhaps He was (partly) referring to the promise God gave to Abraham that through His Seed all the nations of the Earth would be blessed (REF), but it certainly goes beyond that. When asked mockingly (and in shock) by “the Jews” (religious leaders) whether He had seen Abraham (being – they supposed – not yet 50 years old), Jesus responds in verse 58 by saying: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.” Verily, verily means truly, truly, and denotes speaking from experience and absolute knowledge of something – you can be sure it’s true (as everything Jesus said is true – He is THE Truth after all – REF). There are two things to notice that Jesus says here:

1. He existed before Abraham was even born (nearly 2,000 years prior).
2. He existed for all that time as “I am”.

Micah 5:2 reveals that the then-future-coming King of Israel (aka the Messiah) that would come from Bethlehem (Jesus’ birthplace) has had His “goings forth” (plural) “from of old, from everlasting”.

That’s not just a normal human being, for He pre-existed His public appearing, going forth multiple times in the past from of old, since forever ago. And isn’t that in perfect harmony with what Jesus said? Yes it is. Might one of those goings forth have been the LORD God meeting with Abraham in a physical body in Genesis 19 (and other places, and all the times He appeared to the Patriarchs and prophets in a physical manifestation)? The LORD on Earth that worked in unison with the LORD in Heaven to destroy the cities? A further clue is Jesus saying that He pre-existed Abraham as “I am”… which is the Greek equivalent of the same title that God reveals Himself to Moses with in Exodus 3:14!

And while some may want to try to beat around the bush on the matter, the religious leaders knew EXACTLY what Jesus was claiming… He was claiming to be God, and thus they tried to stone Him (as they did on multiple occasions) for supposedly committing blaspheme (only it wasn’t, because Jesus was telling the truth).

Another example:
Jesus, referenced Old Testament passages that say no one can deliver out of the hand of God (REFERENCES) to refer to both the Father and Himself. John 10:24-30 says:
24. Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

  1. Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.
  2. But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
  3. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
  4. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any manpluck them out of my hand.
  5. My Father, which gave themme, is greater than all; and no manis able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
  6. I and myFather are one.”Lastly, but nowhere close to being complete (I’m currently writing a book on the subject of Jesus’ God claims… there are many), in John 5 (and I’ll let you read the chapter yourself, pretty easy to do), Jesus claims (among many other things) that the Son (Himself) does EXACTLY THE SAME as the Father does; and that we need to honour the Son THE SAME AS we honour the Father that sent Him, and if you don’t, then that you’re not really honouring the Father; and that the Son will raise all of the dead one day with the sound of His voice and will judge them and reveal their eternal destinies (some to life, and some to damnation). This is the same chapter that Jesus said that Moses wrote about Him, and that if you can’t believe Moses’ writings then how can you believe His words? And that the Scriptures, which they searched for eternal life, spoke of Him, yet they would not come to Him to receive life.

Now, you may point out … the Lord our God is one Lord – same word in Genesis for Adam and Eve becoming one.

I’m sure there may be some other types of connections between Jesus and Moses, but I think for now that should suffice.

That concludes the qualification section for the Prophet, and how it’s clearly Jesus.

*mic drop* J

Give it up for King Jesus! King of kings and Lord of lords (refs, Daniel 7, Revelation, Parables, + Allah hating the title). Hallelujah! Praise forever to the Lord Jesus Christ! Amen and amen!

Now, we’ve already seen how Muhammad utterly fails the qualification and clarification sections for being the Prophet like Moses in Deuteronomy 18:15-19 & 34:10-12 (and how actual Biblical comparisons between Jesus and Moses far outweigh any of the poorly contrived attempts to pair Muhammad with Moses), BUT does Muhammad pass the disqualification section in Deuteronomy 18:20-22 (and what does that mean exactly, and what are the implications if he does)?

Disqualifications of the Prophet (aka, signs of false prophets & Muhammad fitting the bill):

As we shall see, both the Old and New Testaments warn us about men like Muhammad, including the very end of the same passage that Muslims want us to believe is about Muhammad… which, as we saw, is clearly not. But I will concede and say that we do find Muhammad in Deuteronomy 18… verses 20-22, which read:

“20. But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
21. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
22. When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”

Speaking of false prophets (aka further DISqualifications of being THE Prophet) this part of the passage says:

*IF a prophet:
1. Presumes to speak a word in the LORD’s name, which He has not commanded him to speak, that prophet shall die.
2. Speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.

*You know a word that the LORD has not spoken when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD and the thing spoken does not follow or come to pass, then you know the LORD did not speak it and the prophet spoke it presumptuously.

I would first say that point #1 can’t apply to Muhammad because YeHoVaH is not Allah (which is another topic), but for the sake of argument, since Muslims want to believe their Allah is the same God of the Bible (which he clearly IS NOT for several reasons [we just saw one, that the True God of the Bible is a Father and Allah, they say, is not {though this has some contradicting problems, which is another topic – see David Wood and Sam Shamoun’s video on Acts17Apologetics about “Allah Had Two Sons”}]), I will allow this to temporarily apply to Muhammad for the sake of continuing the conversation… but do remember this point: Allah IS NOT YeHoVaH (which in itself disqualifies Muhammad).  But moving on…

Secondly, “20. But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.”

A. As discussed, Muhammad did constantly speak in the name of another god: Allah.
B. Muhammad gave the infamous “Satanic Verses”, in which:
1. he told the pagans that NAMES (the well-known three daughters of Allah that the pagans believed in) could carry their prayers to Allah, and he bowed down to them, causing his followers and the pagans to also bow down (similar to how his followers kissed the pagan’s black stone idol only after they had seen Muhammad do it – REFERENCE). References, Hadith and Quran.
2. Muhammad later said that it was a revelation from Satan (similarly how he had been subject to black magic and received delusional thoughts – REFERENCES, and thought that he was demon possessed when the false “Gabriel” appeared to him in the cave and choked him, causing him to become suicidal – REFERENCES), REFERENCES.
3. Allah later reprimanded him for it, and instead of upholding the death sentence that Moses got from the true God, made an excuse for Muhammad and said that the Devil always corrupts some of a message that a prophet receives from Allah (which is not true), REFERENCE.
*This incident alone fulfills both signs of a false prophet in Deuteronomy 18:20.

Thirdly, “22. When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”

Aside from never speaking in the name of YeHoVaH in the first place, and aside from giving many false, ridiculous, and contradicting “facts” (the sun sets in a pool of murky water – REF, nothing makes water unclean for drinking or washing – REF, there’s no such thing as communicable diseases – REF, women are half as intelligent as men – REF, the Devil pees in your ear and lives in your nose at night – REF, the majority of the punishment in the grave is from peeing wrong – REF, lick people’s fingers of leftover food so that the devil doesn’t get the blessing of the food – REF, a fly has a disease on one wing and an antidote on the other and that you should therefore dunk a fly entirely in your soup if it lands in it – REF, eating 7 ajwar dates will make you immune to poison – REF, sperm comes from…. – REF, powerful and holy angels (though that is not Muhammad’s false “Gabriel”) can’t enter a room if there is a dog in it even if it means breaking their promise (lying) – REF, the majority of people in hell are women – REF,  contradicting number of days for creation – REFS, and the list goes on… and on… and on, and that’s NOT including all of his horrible teachings and actions, which many Muslims are probably unaware of or brainwashed into accepting as “good”), Muhammad did in fact make multiple false prophesies, in particularly with regard to the end of time, as well as in regard to specific future victories for Muhammad and the Muslims. And also in regard to how many different sects there would be of Jews, Christians, and Muslims.

The following paragraphs contain information from the Acts17Apologetics’ video:
Muhammad Makes a False Prophecy”:

Quran 30:1-5, Sahih International, says (bolding mine):

“Alif, Lam, Meem. The Byzantines have been defeated In the nearest land. But they, after their defeat, will overcome. Within three to nine years. To Allah belongs the command before and after. And that day the believers will rejoice In the victory of Allah. He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.”

Problems:
1. We are not told who defeated the Romans, not told where they’re defeated, and not told when they would be defeated. Aside from making this passage extremely ambiguous and unspecific, the lack of such information shows that the Quran is false, because the Quran says multiple times that it is explained in detail and that all verses are detailed – for example, see: Q6:114 & 41:3.

2. The Quran was originally written without vowels, in Arabic using only consonants. Vowel markings were added later. There is a variant reading in the extant Quranic manuscripts saying that the Romans have been victorious, and in a few years they shall be defeated – the complete opposite of what the others say – this reading is also seen in two modern Quran translations by Quran-only Muslims:

*”The Message: A Translation Of The Glorious Quran
(https://www.amazon.com/Message-Translation-Glorious-Quran/dp/097967154X – I think) and…

*”Quran: Reformist Translation” – emphasis mine:
30:1. A1L30M40* 30:2. The Romans have won,* 30:3. At the lowest point on the earth. But after their victory, they will be defeated. 30:4. In a few more years. The decision before and after is for God, and on that day those who acknowledge will rejoice. 30:5. With God’s victory. God gives victory to whom He wishes; He is the Noble, the Compassionate.
http://www.studyquran.org/resources/Quran_Reformist_Translation.pdf – You’ll notice quite a number of differences. Also, they, of course, have to ADD their own interpretation of the fulfillment of this verse of THEIR VERSION in the endnotes.

3. Assuming we’re going with the mainstream translation, both secular and Muslim sources say that the Byzantines defeated the Persians decisively between 627-628AD, Persians called for a truce in 630AD, and according to Muslim scholars such as Ibn Kathir and Yusuf Ali, the “few years” of the Quran verse is anywhere from 3 to 9 years that the Romans would be victorious, and the verse was “revealed” in 615AD. Do the math.

Muhammad was off by a few years… assuming that we’re going with the mainstream translation, and despite the extreme ambiguousness of the verse… which is a detrimental factor to the Quran’s claims of clarity. But, considering all the CONFUSION around this verse, as we can CLEARLY see, let’s take a look at some of Muhammad’s other prophesies (again, not including otherwise false and evil statements, teachings, and actions).

We’ll now turn to some of the Hadith…
The following paragraphs contain information from the Apostate Prophet’s video:
Muhammad’s Failed End Time Prophecy”:

It appears that Muhammad was convinced (or was simply trying to convince everyone else) that the Last Hour (aka, the End of Time, the Day of Resurrection) was very very close, as seen by a number of his statements and failed predictions:

Constantinople will be conquered and the Last Hour will come.
~Sahih Muslim 41:6924, 41:6979; Jami al/at?-Tirmidhi 4:7:2239, Sunan Abu Dawud 38:4281, etc.

*Constantinople was conquered by Muslims in 1453 (with some very sad and evil stories, as always accompanied bloody Islamic oppressive invasions into lands not their own, such as: rape, murder, torture, stealing, desecrations, etc. which came as the “blessed” followers of the false god Allah took their “rights” of persecuting others which they find in their “holy” book for their false religion) and the city is now called Istanbul. We’re all still here. The Last Hour (which is a clear reference to the end of time) did not come.

This is further collaborated with the fact that Muhammad preached that the end of the world was coming soon, even within the century:

He said: “I and the Last Hour have been sent like this,” and joined his forefinger and his middle finger.
~Sahih Muslim 41:7044-7049.

A person asked Allah’s Apostle: When would the Last Hour come? Thereupon Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) kept quiet for a while. Then he looked at a young boy in his presence and said: If this boy lives, he would not grow very old till the Last Hour would come to you.
~Sahih Muslim 41:7050-7053.

Do you realize the importance of this night? Nobody present on the surface of the earth tonight would be living after the completion of one hundred years from this night.
~Sahih Bukhari 1:10:539, 575; Sahih Muslim 31:6160, etc.

I heard Allah’s Messenger as saying this one month before his death: You asked me about the Last Hour whereas its knowledge is with Allah. I, however, take an oath and say that none upon the earth, of the created beings, would survive at the end of one hundred years.
~Sahih Muslim 31:6162-6165, etc. (in numerous sources).

*There have always been people who live beyond 100 years, and there are animals that regularly live beyond 100 years. And again, we’re all still here, the Last Hour (the end of time) did not come. Holding two fingers together mean’s their touching… Muhammad has long been dead (and likely in Hell) and we’re still here… that boy is most certainly dead, and he nor anyone at that time saw the end of time, the Last Hour.

It appears Muhammad may have himself been frightened of the Last Hour (in stark contrast to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Who associated the end of time with His own Second Coming and His own Final Judgement of the World [for a couple of many examples, see Matthew 13 and John 5], and for which reason TRUE Believers in Jesus are not scared of the end time, for it is a part and promise of our Salvation)…

Allah frightens the believers with solar and lunar eclipses.
~Sahih Bukhari 2:18:158

In fact, so close was the Last Hour in Muhammad and his companion’s minds, that when one of his own companions was accused by another of his companions of being the Dajjal (how lovely the believers were to each other), Muhammad didn’t object (the Dajjal is an anti-Christ figure that looks nearly identical to Allah (REFERENCE), and comes in the end times).

Umar swore that Ibn Sayyid was the expected Dajjal. Muhammad did not object.
~Sunan Abu Dawud 38:4315-4317.

Then you will fight the Romans and victory will be granted. Then you will fight Dajjal and victory will be granted.
~Sunan Ibn Majah 5:36:4091.

*Muslims, “the Romans” of the Roman Empire, are long gone… the epic showdown with the Dajjal never happened.

When you see the caliphate has settled in the holy land … the Last Hour will be nearer to mankind than this hand of mine is to your head.
~Sunan Abu Dawud 14:2529

*Muslims INVADED and OCCUPIED the Holy Land in 637AD… we’re all still here… around 1,383 years later (written in 2020), the Last Hour didn’t come.

***All indications plainly show that Muhammad expected and/or preached that the end of time was very close: like two of his fingers placed together (him being one, and the Last Hour being the other), like the distance from his hand to a near person’s head (once the caliphate would settle in the Holy Land), within 100 years of a certain night, before a young boy would be able to grow very old, when Constantinople would be conquered.

Failed, failed, failed! A false prophet is he! On this point alone (giving a false prophesy – not including all the others, speaking in the name of other gods, giving a word that God did not give, etc. and don’t forget not fitting the requirements for being THE Prophet, and contradicting God’s true revelations before him in the Torah and Gospel).

Sura Al-Imran 3:121-181

Muhammad’s vision of kuffars only being a few, but there were more, they lost, when asked, he said he was afraid that if they knew that there would be many then they would be afraid. If Allah told you the truth that there were too many that you would be afraid and would not go.

If there are twenty of you they will defeat two hundred… there was weakness in you, if there are a hundred you will defeat two hundred and a thousand will defeat two thousand. Quran.

MUHAMMAD, PROOF THAT HE WAS A FALSE PROPHET

For more on why Muhammad can’t possibly be a prophet, see this article “50 Reasons Muhammad Was Not A Prophet”:
http://www.answeringmuslims.com/2014/04/50-reasons-muhammad-was-not-prophet.html

EXAMPLES (no angels to fight, how many sects in Christians, Jews, and Muslims?). Look up: false prophesies by Muhammad in Acts17Apologetics, Answering Muslims, Apostate Prophet, etc.
https://islamqa.info/en/answers/90112/who-are-the-saved-group
https://www.researchgate.net/publication/338257809_Islamic_Sects_and_Terrorism_Similarities_and_Differentiations – according to this (apparently Muslim) researcher (and I cannot trust the paper based on other things he says that shows his ignorance in some areas), there are hundreds of Muslim/Islamic sects in the world.

So whether you want to go with the mere two or three mainstream denominations of Islam, or hundreds of sects of Islam, Muhammad’s (growing to?) 73 sects of Muslims is clearly incorrect, as is clearly his 72 sects of people of the Book. Ironically, Muslims often use the fact that Christianity (or “Christianity”) has so many different denominations in order to try to say it can’t be from God, but yet it was Muhammad who said that Muslims would have MORE denominations than Christians (knocking down this argument), and was wrong on the numbers (proving him a false prophet), and contradicted himself by saying some of the other religions would be saved while elsewhere saying that only devout Muslims are saved (REFS) also showing himself not to be of God, AND showing that according to Islam MOST people are going to Hell and only a very small number will be saved… and you don’t know WHICH one will be saved and which one won’t be saved (in addition to all the other things Islam says on who is saved and who isn’t – REFS for example, most in hell are women, half will go to hell and half to paradise and Allah doesn’t care which, sins of Muslims placed on Jews and Christians, punishment in the grave mostly for being and then crossing a razor sharp bridge whilest being burned to a crisp and having hooks pulling out your flesh trying to drag you to hell and if you make it then retributing each other for your sins before moving on and then being afraid that as your second foot was about to enter paradise Allah could still be tricking you and if you do make it then it’s a bunch of eternal sex virgins unhappy wives and rivers of wine etc with very little mention of Allah, etc.).

All in all, Muhammad doesn’t match the multiple criteria for being THE Prophet (that we MUST listen to [while Jesus does fit]), but he does match the multiple criteria for being a false prophet. And the Bible has even MORE warnings against men like Muhammad…

Not even the same theology, Father, etc. allowing adultery?
+Other Biblical warnings against Muhammad
+Other death sentences from God through Moses on Muhammad, sacred stones, idolatry, etc.

But didn’t the Jews think the Prophet and Messiah were separate? No, some Pharisees made this distinction once, but the Bible doesn’t say they were right, in fact they were the very group Jesus rebuked the most for their overriding of Scripture with their traditions. How is the Christ the Son of David? Other Jews saw the two to be the same – this is that prophet, they wanted to make Him king by force, we have found the one Moses wrong about… You are the King of Israel. Muslims have no idea what the Messiah is.

Come home to Jesus, as Dr. Jay Smith would say.

Again, Muslims, this passage is critical, because the LORD God says that you MUST listen to that prophet! Will you continue to try to say that Deuteronomy 18:18 is about Muhammad, or will you face the facts and turn to Jesus? Will you decide to forget this passage and God’s clear command, and continue to try to find Muhammad elsewhere in the Scriptures simply for the sake of trying to exalt a sinful man and validate a false statement made in his false book praising a false god, for the sake of a false religion? After all, Allah supposedly told Muhammad to come to the Jews and Christians to ask us about our Scriptures, not the other way around (REFERENCE), and he’s supposed to be your ultimate example (cough! – reference)!

If you found that the evidence shows this has to be talking about Jesus, and cannot be talking about Muhammad, or anyone else, which is so blatantly obvious, will you do what is right which God requires of you? Will you hear and obey the words of Jesus/Yeshua? It takes honour and courage/bravery, I know, and the earthly stakes can be high (family, friends, possessions, even your life), but it is of eternal importance for the Salvation of your soul. And everything else in this temporal life is nothing compared to eternal life with God in Heaven, which only Jesus can give to you. And no loss in this life is comparable to the loss of being separated from God forever in Hell because you rejected the Messiah as your Lord and Saviour and would not listen to the command of God in Scripture.
